Project Title: Structural Inspection and Load Analysis for Siemens-Russelectric, Hingham, MA

Project Description:
At Siemens-Russelectric, located at 99 Industrial Park Rd in Hingham, MA, Surfzone Engineering provided a detailed structural inspection and load analysis of the existing concrete floor slab to support the installation of two heavy industrial machines: a Heavy Punch Press and Vertical Lift Modules (VLM).

We used data from concrete core samples to calculate the total equipment load, factoring in the full unit weight and fully loaded trays. Despite some uncertainties in the analysis, we confirmed that the existing reinforced concrete slab had the strength to handle the proposed installations.

In addition to the inspection, we offered practical guidance on slab preparation, choosing the best installation locations, and ongoing maintenance, all based on the equipment manufacturer’s recommendations and the condition of the existing slab.

This project highlights Surfzone Engineering’s ability to deliver clear, dependable solutions for industrial and commercial spaces, helping facilities across Massachusetts operate efficiently and safely.
